Chilau Seafood Curry

with Dungeness Crab and Shrimp

If you haven't had this version of seafood curry you must try this recipe! The perfect blend of Caribbean flavors with the bold flavorful twist of Chilau. This recipe features the addition of Coconut Milk/Cream and Curry Powder. Feel free to get creative and adjust the meat and veggies to your preference!


  • 2 lbs Shrimp
  • 6 Dungeness Crab Clusters (separated)
  • 1 Bottle Citrus (Original or Gumbo will work as well)
  • 2 Small Cans 26oz Coconut Milk/Cream (unsweetened)
  • 1 Carton Chicken Broth 32oz
  • 1 Red Onion Chopped
  • 2 Cups Chopped Re/ Green/Yellow Bell Peppers
  • 1 Cup Chopped Fresh Cilantro
  • 1 Cup Carrots sliced 2 Cup snow peas
  • 1 TBSP Lemon Juice 2 TBSP ghee (clarified butter)
  • 2 TBSP Curry Powder
  • Add Salt to taste

Additional Seafood Options: Mussels, Clams, Scallops, Fish, Lobster


  1. In large pot heat butter and sauté veggies and curry powder until tender
  2. Add all liquids and bring to boil

  3. Add veggies and simmer until desired texture 

  4. Reduce heat, add crab and simmer 5 minutes
  5. Add Shrimp and simmer for additional 5 minutes or until shrimp are pink
  6. Remove from heat

Serve over rice with garlic bread!!!
